Angel House – Rescue a Child!

In February of 2010, Lindsay and Dominic Russo were doing humanitarian work in India when they came across a group of orphaned children which turned out to be a life changing event for them. 70 orphan children had gathered into a small room with dirty floors all for that one single meal of the day provided by a local feeding program. The age of these children ranged from 3 to 12, they were completely alone and without even a guardian.

After meeting those children Lindsay couldn’t get them out of her heart and mind and wanted to do something for them. She wanted to get a home for them and now it was her sole aim.

In December 2010, the couple’s dream became turned into reality. The first ever Angel House Rescue Orphanage witnessed its grand opening for 50 beautiful children in India. It was one of the most sights  she and her team had ever witnessed as those 50 children ran into their new home. Their eyes shined as they laid on their brand new beds – this was the first time they laid on a bed or a pillow in their entire lives. The Angel House staff welcomed the children with their arms wise open into more than just their new homes, but their new lives.

What started as one house construction for a small group of children has now grown successfully into a multifaceted charitable organization which exists to rescue abandoned orphans and provide them with a new life by giving them a home, a family, and an education. Hundreds of orphans and street children who would otherwise be trapped in forced child labor, human trafficking, or begging on the streets now have a safe place to call home.
